Aspiro Program Safety Systems
Safety is the most important aspect of any reputable program. Our existence depends on our ability to keep your child safe.
Aspiro does all it can to guarantee safety to all students , however, there are inherent risks involved with any outdoor activity.
We hire and train qualified professionals who have passed background checks and have demonstrated the ability to fulfill their job requirements with integrity and above all - SAFETY.
Aspiro has the latest communications equipment from satellite phones to GPS navigation and tracking systems. We also have detailed emergency plans in place, including coverage by life-flight helicopters. We don’t cut corners when it comes to equipment; therefore, your child will be outfitted appropriately for seasonal environmental elements.

Diet is another area where we don’t take the low road. On the trail, students are offered high-end, healthy backpacking food with ample daily caloric intake (3,000 calories per day minimum), as well as proper hydration with water and other drink mixes like hot chocolate, cider, or Gatorade. At a minimum, students are given fresh fruits and vegetables at least twice a week. Vitamins are offered as a supplement.
While in stationary camps, students have traditional camping food like Dutch oven cooked meals which will supplement their diet –always a welcomed event! Every two weeks at base camp, students receive a physical check up by an EMT or an RN to ensure proper hygiene, diet, and overall health. Finally, Aspiro is constantly training our staff on emergency preparedness and how to deal with every imaginable scenario. Your child’s safety is our overwhelming priority.

All staff are CPR and First Aid trained.
Most of our staff are Wilderness First Responder trained, as well as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). Aspiro also works closely with local nurses and doctors to provide a high level of care.
